Manual Therapist inducted into Super Villain hall of fame

A little known, Inner West Physiotherapist was the surprise inductee to the International Super Villain Hall of Fame in last night’s annual Bad Deeds and Evil Agenda Gala. Manuel Remedie, owner and operator of Hands-On-Care Pty Ltd edged out a field of nominees including hot favourite Thanos of the Marvel Universe.

The Super Villain Hall of Fame has a long and proud history spanning many millennia and multiple galaxies. The Good Health Tribune spoke with sitting Chairman of the Board of Super Villians, Mr Darth Vader (pictured). Mr Vader explained that “Nominees are selected on the basis of their commitment to providing outstanding community services in the fields of tyranny, ideological autocracy, shameless profiteering and / or widespread murderous intentions”.

We were curious as to how a mild mannered inner city Physiotherapist managed to get the nod ahead of such an impressive list of contenders. Mr Vader further explained “Well, while it is true that Mr Thanos had scored higher on measures of murderous intent compared with Mr Remedie, Mr Thanos did not demonstrate any desire for profit. The other nominee we carefully considered was Dr Evil of the Austin Powers universe. Dr Evil scored full marks for shameless profiteering and murderous intent but he had a soft spot for Mini-Me that we construed as an unacceptable capacity for mercy”.

When asked what it was that clinched it for Mr Remedie, Mr Vader explained that in the end the decision was unanimous. “Overall, Mr Remedie ticked all the boxes. He has built his business around his manual therapy services, which we all know serve a central purpose of extracting money from vulnerable patients… so there’s your shameless profiteering”. Mr Vader also told us that it was within Mr Remedie’s penchant for “passive care” that his true evil lay. “Mr Remedie has a plan for world domination. You see, he plans on tearing society apart, one disempowering mobilisation manoeuvre at a time. He knows the impact that a massage on one person can have on societal health literacy. And he intends to have the entire population of earth dependent on his services. With worldwide dependency comes worldwide power. It’s brilliant really… I don’t know why Palpatine didn’t think of it”.
