“I Think I Feel It” Says Physio Student Who Knows She Doesn’t Feel It

A hard working Physiotherapy student has excelled in a practical tutorial on the manual assessment of sacroiliac joint motion. The student and her classmates were fortunate enough to have their tutorial run by guest lecturer and world renowned expert in SIJ assessment and treatment, Dr Veronica Upslip. “Well, I’m flattered to hear the students are honoured to have me here”, explained Dr Upslip to our reporter, but the honour is truly mine. I’m humbled to have the opportunity to pass on my uniquely refined skills and knowledge at the students’ above-moderate expense”.

The high performing student appeared uneasy with the praise she’d received for picking up the new skills so adeptly. She was later heard confiding to a close friend, “I didn’t know what I was supposed to be feeling… I just put my hands in the same place as the lecturer and copied all her mannerisms. I think I actually ended up treating the wrong side, but the Doc didn’t notice and then the patient said she felt a bit better anyway. It doesn’t really make sense to me… but it sounds like I’m on the right track nonetheless. I guess I just have to keep practicing and in the meantime.. fake it til I make it!”
