Patient Claims There Is No Need To Write Down Home Exercises
Local Physiotherapist, Donna Swansley, 28, has done her very best to avoid rolling her eyes as her patient expressed extreme confidence in his ability to effectively recall and carry out a new set of home exercises. Despite being comprised of several complex movements that he learned five minutes ago, and despite having to return to his office for the remainder of the afternoon, and then pick up kids from school, drop them to soccer practice, cook dinner and then meet a friend for a quick drink at the pub, the patient is certain that when it comes time to practice these movements at 9pm later that night, he will be able to recall them perfectly.
“Na, no need to write them down, they’re easy to remember”, claimed the patient with earnest confidence to Donna.
“Ok no worries”, replied Donna in the most sincere time she could muster. “How about before you leave we go through them one more time… Can you demo the exercises for me?”
“Haha, you don’t trust me hey! Haha. Yeah ok let’s see. First there’s this one… and then we did this one where my hands go here and then there. And then the third one was… um… oh fuck what was the third one again?”
