‘I’m Not A Guru’ Says CPD Provider With Cult-Like Following

A popular clinical educator within the fields of Physiotherapy and Chiropractic has politely distanced himself from the cult-like following he has spent several years carefully cultivating. “Listen cunt. I’m no fucken guru”, explained Dr Harvard Oxley-Epiphany from behind the wheel of his Maserati Grancabrio.

The cult-like following, whose interactions emerged from a Facebook group created by the entrepreneurial educator and now take the form of pricey seminars and retreats, reject being labeled as a group.

“Oh no there’s no group think here… And I am not a spokesperson”, explained a spokesperson for the group. “I’d say we are more of a loosely organised collection of like-minded clinicians intellectually raging against non-evidenced based practice in manner consistent with our chosen one’s preference”.

“I can’t speak for others in our group, because it’s not a group, but I can assure you that our thought silo is heterogeneous, because we don’t operate in a silo. We despise those guru educator types, they’re nothing like our enlightened leader. And as for their followers, well, I don’t harbour resentment for them, I actually kinda feel sorry for them really. If only they could share the clarity we get from having risen above the pitfalls of cognitive bias and in-group dynamics. But I guess one must follow one’s own path… they can only ride our enlightened coat tails so far, I suppose ”.

Before our reporter could draw a breath to ask another question, the non-spokesperson spokesperson apologised and said he must join his brethren for morning worship.

“… And lead us not into guruism but deliver us to evidence, Amen”.
