High Value Care Provider Calls For Lower Fees, Higher Wages

Local Physiotherapist, Matthew Wright, 26, has unapologetically called for increased wages for providers of “high value” care, during a recent interview with a prospective employer.

“It’s all about ensuring that I’m appropriately remunerated for the high value care I provide my Patients, see. I’ve worked my butt off to get to the point where I can provide patients top shelf care that avoids all the quackery and nonsense that pervades our industry”.

Mr Wright is one of a new breed of Physiotherapists who have been underwhelmed by the quality of education received at University, and who have consequently taken their learning into their own hands.

“The evidence is there for anyone who wants to make an effort to avail themselves of it”, explained Mr Wright. “It’s up to us to raise the standard of care in Private Practice Physiotherapy”.

Asked if he thought the fact that he has done the work to extricate himself from the trappings of ineffective and unsupported assessment and treatment systems, might justify an increase in the fees paid by Patients, Mr Wright was quick to reply.

“Haha, no fucken way, sport. Providing High value Care is not about charging Patients more. I’m not here to gouge money off my Patients. There’s already enough profiteering going on in Healthcare. Get real, buddy. I’m all about getting patients back on track for fewer dollars, not more.

When asked by our reporter how he proposes that a Private Practice might manage an increase in employee wages with concomitant decrease in revenue from treatment fees, Mr Wright replied thoughtfully.

“Not my problem mate. I’m not a clinic owner”.
